On February 2, 2019, one year after Logan’s heavenly birthday, we achieved our fund raising goal of $35,000. The cabin was completed in July 2019 and will host hundreds of campers for generations to come. Thank you for supporting Logan’s Love, Inc. and making it possible for so many children to have a life-changing camp experience.
Before we could tackle challenges around the world, we felt a need to first give back close to home where Logan and her brother Cayden grew up—to an organization that had impacted Logan’s life and our family in so many ways…the YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer (KOK) in Fombell, PA. Logan attended camp as a child through the Indian Princess Father/Daughter program, was sponsored by camp to visit the NPH Orphanage in Honduras, and was a camp counselor for two summers. Logan attended college at FAU in Florida where she was studying to become an elementary school teacher. She loved children and like Camp KOK, wanted children to become the “best versions of themselves”.
Camping, like many Y programs, is about learning new skills, developing character, and making friends.
Camp KOK has served many generations of campers for over 90 years with over 500 acres for children and families to explore. The camp experience focuses on character development, teamwork, accepting others, and leadership, and has become a nationally recognized model for camps pursuing specialized programs including:
- Camping for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities
- Adventure programs for inner city at-risk youth
- Team building retreats
- Parent/child camping
- Outdoor & environmental education
